Hybrid Learning During COVID-19
We meet Tuesday through Friday, from September through May. This year our co-op has a hybrid learning program, where families can participate in our outdoor in-person classes, in a Zoom class, or in a combination of both.
Parent ParticipationAs a student of North Seattle College (NSC), parents will receive parent education from a certified parent educator once a month and receive 3 credits per quarter.
The parent educator also advises and supports the experience of parents as they practice the skills they are learning while being assistant teachers in their child’s preschool. Our co-op participates in the Babes-in-arms policy for bringing infants with parents to the school on work days. In a cooperative preschool, parents are integral to the success of the program. "One of the best things about preschoolers is the curiosity and wonder in
their eyes, it just can't be beat. My goal is to always encourage that natural
love of learning about their world.”
- TEACHER MARISSA
North Seattle Cooperative PreschoolsNorth Seattle College's Cooperative Preschools (NSCCP) provide parent and early education for families with children from infancy to Pre-K.
Schools are located in North Seattle and differ from traditional preschools in that they are run by parents who work in association with the class teacher and the North Seattle College (NSC) program. Started over 50 years ago, the NSC Program offers a warm and gentle introduction to school and community life for young children and their families. Adults and children learn together, grow together, and actively build a community together and have fun. Please visit the NSC website for more information about cooperative preschools. |
